In the 1940's everybody knew what a prune was - he was a dimwit. And perhaps the most well known one of the day was Pilot Officer Prune, the popular cartoon figure used in the RAF training manual , TEE EMM. Against the backdrop of the Battle of Britain, Percy Prune was instrumental in teaching pilots how not to do it - and cartoonist Bill Hooper gave them a much needed smile along with their instruction. Fifty years later, Bill's Picture Parade looks back on Prune's creation and his development as a persona not only within the RAF, but throughout the Allied Air Forces. Lively anecdotes, great cartoons, and fine color plates provide nostalgia, humour and military interest.
