1st edition hardback in dj.  312 pages.  c.50 b&w photo illustrations + maps and diagrams.   A very good clean copy showing minimal handling wear;  slight age browning to page edges otherwise no marks or inscriptions.

A history of the glider as a weapon of war in WWII.  Describes the operations, troops and airmen involved, with first hand accounts of the actions.  Gives technical data and development details of the gliders, including the German DFS 230 and Junkers, the British Horsa and Hamilcar, the US Waco CG-4A, + lesser gliders from countries such as Russia, Japan, China and Czechoslovakia.
