Pennine Way;  Pembrokeshire Coast Path, South West Peninsula Coast Path;  Offa's Dyke;  Cleveland Way, North & South Downs Ways and the Ridgeway.

The paths pass through National Parks and areas of outstanding natural beauty, and are generally suitable for walkers of all ages and abilities.  Each route is fully described by the author, an ex head of the Long Distance Paths branch of the Countryside Commission.  There is a detailed bibliography and an appendix of useful addresses.
