An extremely good, clean, copy, in similar dj, fully illustrated throughout with b&w photos, diagrams and maps. 

This is a definitive guide to the Maine Coast, encapsulating thirty years of cruising experience.  Covers not only the well documented harbors and passages but also secluded and remote bays and coves.  The Tafts take you miles upriver on the Kennebec, Sheepscot, Damariscotta and Penobscot and to the remote lighthouses at Matanicus Rock, Mount Desert Rock and Machias Seal Island.  There are details of 500 anchorages and day stops.

The extensive introduction provides necessary info on weather, navigation, equipment, repair and rescue facilities and tips on local protocol, as well as places and trails to access from your mooring spots.  There is also a harbour rating system, providing an 'at a glance' summary of each anchorage's facilities, protection, and places of interest.  The best harbours are called out in full page maps at the beginning of each of the guide's seven regions.
