2nd revised edition, hardback, 247 pages.  52 colour and b&w illustrations.  Overall a very good copy, white dj is a little rubbed and discoloured with slight edge wear at lower rear edge.

Describes those plants that are poisonous and illustrates many of them.  Details are given on the frequency of poisoning, the toxins, and the clinical signs that result when these plants are eaten or touched.
Toxic species may be found among flowering plants, ferns, conifers, fungi and fresh water blue-green algae; all these classes are discussed.  Most poisonous plants in N.Z. are not native there and much information was gathered from overseas sources.  Connor's book is intended for vets, hospital casualty officers, botanists and farm advisors, but can also be valuable for farmers and parents.
