1st edition hardback, 191 pages, lavishly illustrated with over 100 b&w photos + 48 page colour section with over 1000 badges and insignia. A very good copy in similar dj - clean and unmarked.
Contains a thorough presentation of badges and insignia of Marines of the world, many of which have never been illustrated before. There are stories about the units, some of which are well established, some relatively new.
Photos in the text give a rare glimpse of the uniforms as worn at the time of publication of this book. In several nations, Marines or Naval Infantrymen exclusively handle the role of Commandos, carrying on a tradition rooted in WWII. In a few nations Marine Commando duties are handled by special Army units, and some of them are covered here.
