3rd imp paperback, 128 pages, a nice copy which has uniform age browning to pages and minimal handling wear to card covers. A few pages have corner creasing but no tears. Translated from French by G.A. Dudley. Essential oils are powerful and complex substances, which, when used by qualified practitioners, have many beneficial and remedial effects on health. This book, written by two Frenchmen, lists 60+ essential oils, or essences, and describes their active principles, properties, external use, internal use, and contra-indications if appropriate. It gives a slightly different perspective on the role of essential oils, which in the UK are only applied externally. There is a section on diseases and their aromatic treatments with plants and oils, 4 pages of recipes for aromatic waters, vinegars, electuaries and spiced wines, and finally a glossary of chemical and medical terms. This is a very useful book for professionals or serious students of aromatherapy/phytotherapy.
