1st edition thus, folio, pp111; one in the series of adventure classics from Studio Vista; 102 illustrations in b&w by Harold King, dedication to previous owner on fep. Presents revolutionary France and London in historically accurate detail. Also contains 7 charts with historical information, some of which are fold-out; the first of these is creased at outer edge but no loss to text or illus. The blue illustrated DJ has some general wear and a small green stain to the reverse, c. 2"x1" with a little shelf wear near the spine on the hard cover,& a thumbnail size piece missing from DJ. Text & illustrations are in very good condition. Story has been abridged by Joanna Jellinek and is interspersed with the well researched historical information that characterises the whole Studio Vista series. e.g. map of the Bastille, contemporary maps of London and Paris, period dress, doctors' instruments, glossary of the Revolution, calendar of the Revolution + list of reference works and books for further reading.
