Hard covers show light shelf wear with a little chipping to lower spine end, and there is some light, uniform age discoloration to the white part of the cover. Produced by the editors of American Heritage, The Magazine of History Recalls in the combat photos and art the fighting gear, insignia and daily existence of the carrier-based 'flying sailors.' No other men under arms in American history fought on such a vast battleground. For no other combatants was sudden destruction from the air above or the sea below (or from the explosive cargo of the ship itself) such a constant companion.
