1st edition hardback 324 pages 13 colour illustrations + b&w diagrams throughout. A very good, clean tight copy, in very good dj. which has slight sunning to spine and top edge on reverse. The author explores the practicalities of space travel and the possibility of alien communication. His refers particularly to a set of radio signals received in the 1920's that point to an origin in the galaxy Bootes, 13,000 years ago. Was this an SOS from a civilisation threatened by the heat of its expanding sun? If so, what was their fate, do they know we exist? Duncan Lunan studied physics and astronomy at Glasgow University and is a past president of the Association in Scotland for Technology and Research in Astronautics.
