This book is the result of 20 years of study on Hermetic thought. Thoth, or Hermes, was the Greek name for the Egyptian god Tehuti and Chandler examines the Hermetic principles of Tehuti and their impact on the human race. 5,000 years ago the laws found in the Hermetic philosophy comprised the scientific, spiritual, and moral fabric of the civilisations of China, India, Kush, Southern Arabia, Mesopotamia, Sumeria and Egypt. Chandler's intention is to give an overview of this philosophy, to present our ancestors as spiritually dynamic beings, in an age which has reduced history to an intellectual exercise, where we are told what truth is, rather than seek it for ourselves.
